AVG signs Wintek Nordic Group AS
First Nordic Region distribution agreement for leading information security vendor
Czech Republic 26th March, 2008 - AVG Technologies, www.avg.com a leading provider of Internet Security software, today announced the appointment of its official Nordic distributor for the market in Norway.
“We’re delighted to finally have a way to work more closely with our customers and prospects in the Nordic Region,” said Petter Lautin, AVG’s vice president of sales for EMEA. “We look forward to significantly increasing our business in this important market, particularly with the newly-released AVG 8.0 products for business and home users.”
Wintek Nordic Group a member of the Profitek group, has more than 130 channel partners, and is a fast-growing information security solution provider in Norway. At the end of 2007, the company decided to widen its product portfolio and made the decision to add a security solution.
“We are looking forward to formally introducing AVG 8.0 to the market here through our reseller network,” said Wintek technical manager Jarle Avloyp.“The product is already very well known here, thanks to the high quality of the products and great support from the people at AVG.”
The AVG 8.0 products were launched last month and are designed to protect home and business users against current and future threats without impacting system performance, a task made significantly easier by the completely-redesigned user interface and inclusion of the handy AVG Security Toolbar. The real-time protection of the new AVG Active Surf-Shield and Search-Shield, acquired through the purchase of Exploit Prevention Labs last year, provide protection against the latest web-borne threats that deliver drive-by downloads and other stealthy attacks.
